Fighting through a Disconnect walks you through the disconnect that any leader can face while diligently serving parishioners. We have all disconnected at some point in ministry from the primary reason that we are doing ministry. But, it is important to remember that we must stay close to our “service provider,” Jesus, so that we can continue to serve and empower people to know God.
About this experience
Fighting through a Disconnect will help leaders easily identify ways in which they can become disconnected from people and ministry, and it will walk them through the steps to properly pull away and reconnect so that they can continue to meet the needs of their parishioners and community.
While sitting in a local restaurant with his wife, during his annual sabbatical in 2011, Dr. Stacy L. Spencer realized that he had become disconnected from the very people he was called to serve. It was from that personal experience that Fighting through a Disconnect was birthed.
Dr. Stacy L. Spencer serves as Senior Pastor of New Direction Christian Church in Memphis, Tennessee.
The man of humble beginnings now leads one of the country’s fastest growing congregations with a membership of more than 15,000 members in three campuses in the Memphis area and another in Dutwya, South Africa in only 10 years.
He and his wife, Rhonda, are the proud parents of 4 sons: Calvin, Omari, Jordan and Jaden Lynn.
